Employing a documentary style, the movie shows the Paris uprising, the German army&#8217;s efforts to stop the French Resistance, the Allied troops&#8217; arrival in the city and their eventual victory over the Germans. Jean-Paul Belmondo, Kirk Douglas, Orson Welles, Leslie Caron, Glenn Ford, Charles Boyer, and Anthony Perkins headline a star-studded cast. Gore Vidal and Francis Ford Coppola were contributors to the screenplay.</p>
