Cruchot’s police officers moves into a new building. They do not only get high tech equipment, but also four young female police officers that they have to educate. All of them scramble to work with them – and cause pure chaos while being distracted by the fine ladies. Then they get into real trouble when one after the other of their female colleagues is kidnapped. This is the last installment in the hugely successful and popular Gendarmes series. Le gendarme et les gendarmettes marks also the end of Louis de Funès’ career, as he died only one year later. Whilst shooting this film, director Jean Girault died and Tony Aboyantz took over directing.
